Verog the Dervish

Verog the Dervish is a Horde-only quest for level 5-30 in Northern Barrens. It is step 20 of 62 in the Northern Barrens storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Northern Barrens at 55.4, 78.9. It rewards 3 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 3,100 experience and money.

Description

Verog may be hard to find, but judging by the info you gathered, his mate Wyneth is always in his command tent just west of here. If we kill her, Verog will come running.

Regthar sent us here to scout, but he also said we should seize any opportunity to upset the centaur chain of command if we can. Lure out Verog and kill him!

You have to kill the other Centaurs around the command tent until Verog will spawn. You will hear him yell, and that is when you can go find him. He will spawn at the area where the Kolkar Chest is, just a tad south of the command tent.

He is very easy!

Completely changed in Cataclysm. You no longer have to run around killing kolkar in order to get him to spawn. After completing a pre-quest called Flushing out Verog where you collect 4 maps(called Centaur Intelligence) from any of the centaur camps you are offered this one. Travel to 51,78(new coords) which is the old Verog spawn point and look for a new kolkar called Wyneth. Kill him and Verog will spawn immediately down the hill a little way. He will then run at you and engage in combat.

Kill him and quest is done.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Flushing Out VerogNorthern Barrens · Level 5-30

Regthar Deathgate sent me here to observe the centaur activity, but the leader of this group is hard to pin down. I've discovered that his name is "Verog the Dervish," but his whereabouts are a mystery. Can you help me do some digging?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Hezrul BloodmarkNorthern Barrens · Level 5-30

Hezrul Bloodmark is the leader of the Kolkar centaurs in the Barrens. He is fierce, brutal and cunning. Defeating him would disrupt and fracture the Kolkars, greatly reducing their threat to us. So kill him. Bring me Hezrul's Head, and I will mount it from this outpost, so that they may know fear.
