I don't remember [npc=49480] saying anything about killing birds when I did this quest on my Night Elf recently :/

Also, Wowhead states that this quest is available for Night Elves, and Worgen. This isn't true for Worgen, since the prequest The Woodland Protector is only available for Night Elves, and the centaur does not appear for Worgen to accept the quest from.

The other quest she gives out Vile Touch is also not available to Worgen for the same reason.

I'm not sure what christophermcca was talking about either. No mention of birds, and I can't figure out any pun that would make this funny...

Strangely, when I did these quests on my Mage just now, Tarindrella did nothing to "aid" me, as she said she would. She didn't even try to cast her spells until I went up against the "boss" spider. Then, she tried to cast each time I did, but stopped after a split second, never getting a spell off once. I almost died on this very simple quest.

Description

I'd hoped to never return to Teldrassil for such grim business. I'd hoped that its corruption had been wiped away completely. Something foul lingers. These spiders suffer much more deeply from the corruption than the other nearby wildlife. They are becoming a danger to your people and a danger to the forest. We must thin their numbers, but more importantly, we need to find the source of the corruption that plagues them. I will come with you and aid you in this.
