Here's my strategy write-up for those who do these guys as dailies, and want an easier way of handling them. This may also be of use for those who are taking these guys on for the first time. I go for efficiency with my strategy - you'll see me making recommendation on pet types, because if you're doing these once a day, you don't want each one to leave you in a panic. The Pandaren Spirits are Legendary quality, so they have high survivability.

The pets don't always appear in the order listed (trainers at times switch the order of their pets), but you can run from the fight and try again or switch your own order of pets if you'd like more choice in your set up. Eventually you'll get a line-up you're more comfortable with.

Dusty, Critter - Cocoon Strike, Moth Balls, Moth Dust

For Dusty, what we have here is a Critter (not Flying, as with most moths) who hits strong against Aqua types, hits weak against Dragonkin, and takes far more damage from Beast abilities. For max efficiency, you'll want a Dragonkin with Beast abilities, such as Chrominius, Proto Drake Whelpling, Soul of the Aspects, or a Dragonhawk Hatchling. Bored of using Dragonkin? You can alternatively go for your strongest, most consistent Beast DPS. But be warned, here: with Moth Balls, Moth Dust and Cocoon Strike, all moves intended to disable you from doing consistent or even nuke-heavy damage, while in the meantime he will blast at you.

Whispertail, Dragonkin - Flyby, Slicing Wind, Wild Winds

For Whispertail, you again have multiple choices: because NONE of Whisper's abilities will hit a dragon all that hard, a Dragonkin with a nuke is a viable option, but you could also go the route of choosing a Humanoid with a big nuke (i.e. Pandaren Monk), which will end the fight MUCH faster. A more creative option, if you have him, is to use Death Talon Whelpguard, who is a Dragonkin with Humanoid abilities.

Pandaren Air Spirit, Elemental - Slicing Wind, Soothing Mists, Wild Winds

For the Pandaren Air Spirit, after doing this several times, I've decided that you're better off utilizing a Rapana Whelk or a Snail-type, where your Dive will be your go-to nuke, and Acidic Goo will cause said nuke to hit harder. Why? Because it's difficult to out-DPS his healing otherwise. Keep in mind that you're choosing a Critter because you can't use an Aquatic, since he will destroy them with ease - his attacks may not look like much, but they hit surprisingly hard, and Legendary pets have lady luck on their side (for instance, Slicing Wind will often hit ALL THREE times). You can alternatively use a Dragonkin, a type that will resist much of his attacks, but because there are no Dragonkin with Aquatic abiltiies as of this writing, you won't be hitting hard - it'll be tough to take him down due to his healing. If you use a Dragonkin, make sure it has a nuke and/or a self-heal - a Dragonkin also transitions well into subsequent battles.

After you complete Pandaren Spirit Tamer and choose your pet, you will unlock the Pandaren Spirit Tamer dailies. Defeating the Whispering Pandaren Spirit will reward [item=93148], which has a chance to drop the [item=92799]* pet.

The Whispering Pandaren Spirit's team consists of legendary quality, level 25 pets:

Be very careful if you bring an Aquatic to battle the Air Spirit, since all three pets have multi-hit Flying attacks; with that said, Dragonkin are very strong in this fight. An [npc=7545] or [npc=68850] will do very well.

*Note that the bags dropped by each of the Spirit Tamers have different item IDs and loot tables! You can only obtain the [item=92799] pet from the bag that Whispering Pandaren Spirit rewards. For a chance at the other pets, defeat the other Tamers:

Flowing Pandaren Spirit in Dread Wastes (rewards [item=93147] for a chance at [item=90173])
Thundering Pandaren Spirit in Kun-Lai Summit (rewards [item=93149] for a chance at [item=92800])
Burning Pandaren Spirit in Townlong Steppes (rewards [item=93146] for a chance at [item=92798])
