Look at the weapons the Aqualytes have.
- Daggers: Give him a dagger
- Sword: Give him a shield
- Red Staff: Give him a healing prayer
- Blue Staff: Give him a staff
That way you won't have to try all the weapons and it makes the quest go by so much quicker :)

"That way you won't have to try all the weapons" -- Huh? Just read what the NPCs say when you click on them, they TELL you what they want. If you're trying all the options in turn, you need to open your eyes. :-)
Apparently the alliance is skimping out on these guys since all they're doing is giving them cast off level 60 gear that's been sitting in the attic for years.

Description
Elder Lusshan and I agree that the best path forward will be to work together. We will share with the Pearlfin our superior military knowledge and weaponry. In return, they will be a powerful ally should we again encounter the Horde. Take this crate of equipment and weapons. I need you to go around the village and equip the jinyu with weapons befitting their skills.
