Took me a little bit to figure out what you needed to do to "detox" the NPC's. Turned out to be really simple though.
As a Monk, it was simply target the NPC and cast "detox" on them. Wish I'd realized that before I went around killing a whole bunch of spiders for nothing.

So if you are a huge dingus like me, you forget that monks have a spell that is literally 'detox' and wander around becoming more and more confused as you kill spiders in a WQ group that just gets repeatedly used for realm-hopping. Don't be me. Use your detox spell on the NPCs and get the heck on outta there.
The confusion comes, I think, from there being another quest in this same area which has popped up for me in the place of this one for my non-monk toons.
That quest can be found here: Arachnid Superiority
That quest requires potent venom sacs, which are dropped from the mobs. This monk-specific quest requires no item drops.
That is every comment on this page.
