Book of Binding: The Mad Witch

This quest item/flavor text is a direct reference to the game MYST from 1993/1994, depending on MacOS/Win3.1 version.
Crimson is a shade of red and Sirrus (whom you see trapped in a book in the game) repeatedly demands for you to bring him 'the red pages'.
There are also distinct mentions of 'static' in the quest text, much like the TV-style static that occurs in the game when listening to Sirrus speak.
The 'Book of Binding' being a direct synonym for a 'Trap Book', which were used in MYST to trap both Sirrus and Achenar (Achenar is in the Blue Book, which is another quest item in Korthia).

Definitely a nice touch, in my opinion.

This item is an easter egg from the popular 90's computer game Myst. In Myst, worlds are created by a special craft using writing in books. In the game, a character named Sirrus is imprisoned within an incomplete world that he can only be freed from by locating and restoring red pages to the book. The crimson pages correspond to the red pages that the Stranger (aka the player) collects for Sirrus. You can find a compilation of all Sirrus's communications with the Stranger here.

Similarly, [item=187210] corresponds to Sirrus's brother, Achenar. Achenaris similarly imprisoned, but in a book lacking blue pages. His communications with the player can be found here.

In the game, completing either Achenar's or Sirrus's books results in the player being trapped in the prison world, and the respective villainous brother going free.

Book of Binding: The Mad Witch is one of the missing archivist's relics you can search for and bring back to Archivist Roh-Suir.

Pick it up to start the related quest - Book of Binding: The Mad Witch.

You need to collect 12 [item=185971] all within the cave, check both rooms to collect enough.
You will get 250 [currency=1931] and 500 rep with Archivist Roh-Suir after turning the quest in.
