Boom or Blight

Boom or Blight is a quest for level 78-80 in Azj-Kahet. It is step 1 of 5 in The Wormlands storyline, the opening step. The quest's turn-in marker is in Azj-Kahet at 42.3, 42.5. It rewards 10,600 experience and money. Completing it counts toward 1 achievement.

Description

This place is infested with cave borers. They pose a threat to the great roots that stretch through this place.

Yes, the tree provides sustenance for many living things, but this is not some small band of bugs nibbling on a leaf. This is a blight. Their numbers must be culled for the good of the whole.

By my oath I am unable to raise a hand to interfere. However... you have sworn no such oath. Will you do what must be done?

You can run on the rocks and bring the tremorsense down. Any true Tremors fan know that the rocks won't save you, they conduct sound through the ground better than standing on the ground itself. This would have been more fun if you were able to employ some kind of loud explosive device to drive the critters away for a short while.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Cave borers are not social creatures as a rule. Seeing this many gather in one place speaks to intention. A wormcaller of the nerubians must be present. Find them and recover the tool they use to call these worms here. With it we can lead them away in time.
