Talk to the Scrollsage when you are ready. There will be a blue object a few feet away from him. Go to that object and then trace the gold glittering image with your steps. You will leave a trail of blue glitter. You will have to finish the gold pattern even when it disappears on you. If your blue overlay matches the gold pattern, you will have successfully completed the quest.
Broken. You can do it perfectly and it'll consistently tell you that you did it wrong.
