This WQ isn't buged. Try jump and you will be able finish quest. :)
Why is every single WQ in TWW so unintuitive and vague? Pressing jump to go down. Makes total sense.
A quick tip for this quest: toggle War Mode ON for an easy 10% bonus since you can complete it without having to leave the sanctuary of Dornogal. Then just remember to turn it off when you're done.
UPDATE: This WQ appears to have been fixed as the mech is still clunky but easier to control.
Get into the mech. You can get to one or two of the piles by walking. After those, just walk into the open area of the pit and you'll fly automatically.
Based on default keybinds:
- Space bar (jump/go up): fly higher
- X (sit/go down): fly lower

Step 8 of 8. Chain order is read from the prerequisite data in the current retail client build, so it reflects what the game requires, not a curated storyline.
Taken from the quest's prerequisites.
Did ye hear, <name>? A lot of folks from the city are eager to lend a hand an' support our attack on the nerubians and Xal'atath. I think it's worth reachin' out tae them tae see how they could pitch in. The more support we gather, the better.
Steps, storylines and map placement from the client’s QuestLine, prerequisite and QuestPOI data; neighbouring quest text is Blizzard’s own (quest API), shortened to its opening sentences.
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Quests whose map markers the client places closest to this one on Isle of Dorn, nearest first. Distances are straight lines between the markers.
Flight points closest to the quest’s first objective area marker on Isle of Dorn:
Straight-line distances in yards between the quest’s own map markers (QuestPOI) and the client’s flight-point positions (TaxiNodes); flight paths and terrain are not modelled.
First seen in build 12.0.7.68887 (Midnight patch 12.0.7, the oldest build in our datamine).
