As you enter The Forgotten Depths, you'll see the first clue in front of you (a corpse). Click it.
Then proceed forward, and go up the tunnel to the left; this is where we had to go to drop the Rift Slipper on an earlier quest (a bloody table, at /way 24.9 55.9).
Head up further, and you'll find a bone pile at /way 53.6 59.3
Clicking the last pile spawns Periculus. Unfortunately, it also spawned the Starseeker elite for me... I couldn't click the corpse again, so I had to drop the entire quest an do this whole damn thing again.
Way to go, Blizzard. Nice design.

The whole zone is ridiculous. I'm running around on my Mythic-geared Shaman and getting one-shot by non-elites. And THIS questline is that superbly irritating style of running back and forth across the ENTIRE zone for one tiny piece of a quest at a time. I haven't hated an extra zone in a LONG time, and both this and Naigtal suck so bad. And don't get me started on the elite that hunts you and can barely be solo-killed...

Description
Defeating Ignedus is impressive, I suppose, but it does not mean you're any closer to taking Val. Periculus won't let you meddle with his playthings. He is an... eccentric one, to say the least, and dreadfully fascinated by you flesh-beings. You'll likely find him in the darkest hole this world has to offer, carving open the livestock that Pertinax gathered. He likes to toy with his prey, so I would advise caution.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Yeah, these zones suck, they're just not fun. There are several times in the past I remember the "absolute chaos" type of events, like in Dragonflight when they had those super-fast spawn rate events. But this is just absurd. There's nowhere to park your toon for even a few seconds to take a sip of water. The reeks of vibe-coded LLM-generated bull*!@# that was never tested by an actual human.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Vanquish the Warmonger
Poor Impotus doesn't seem to believe we can seize control from his nefarious kin. He's tragically unimaginative. We'll just need to show him an example of our combined strength. Slay that brute of a newcomer, Ignedus. I think his armor would look nice on our new savior.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Umbral Title Bout
Well then, it seems our goals are more aligned than before. You've impressed me. With Ignedus and Periculus dealt with, all that remains is my former associate. You will find Gladius Reginax atop that high platform, observing her quarry. She already knows you're coming, so don't aim to surprise her.
