TheWoWDBOn the south platform, a quest mob, the Maiden of Patience, spawns faster than just about any other mob you need for this -- and you can zap her over and over. I basically just stood there and waited for her to respawn every minute or so until done.

Right-click Maidens in Tyrhold, and you'll get 20% progress per Maiden. Roughly 1-minute respawn timer. By the fourth, I was at 78% progress.
Just a heads up, getting on my dragon removed the charges I'd already collected. Took me about 10 kills to realize it was resetting every time I got on my dragon. If you're having the same problem, just run around and finish the quest without getting on your mount.

As this was not how the Power Core was supposed to be obtained, it requires a re-attunement to the energies of the Engine. The resonance frequencies of the denizens of Tyrhold should bring the core to its full potential once more. Though I do not wish to sacrifice more of my brethren, I believe this is the only way this challenge may be completed.
