This WQ is not tuned properly. Those damn 60+ birds are EVERYWHERE, on top of the extreme amount of other mobs in the area. Then there's the fact that so many mobs spawn from the portals as you're closing them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm up for a good challenge, especially when there is a good reward, but this quest is dumb.

The portals that you need are the larger ones. Not the small ones.
When they spawn several players can click them and get credit. Just keep clicking.I just did the quest today and even if I did not manage to complete the channeling to close the portal, I still got credit.
I found them to spawn more often at the SE corner of the quest, by the great sword and armor laying on the ground.
This WQ really, really sucks. Other players can come and snatch the portal right in front of you, while you're killing the mobs attached to the portal. If you don't kill all the mobs in the ~10 second channeling time, and immediately start channeling it yourself, you lost the portal.
