I first thought it was bugged and rode around the area like mad, but some guy in a forum post had the solution.

Fun fact, even though you have an attack button, don't be tempted to click it -- you WILL be dismounted and kind of SOL. I finally was able to reset quest by flying to another zone and it ported me back to the quest giver as soon as I landed. I had tried to log out of game, right click quest, take a FP to another area in the zone, but nothing worked. So, if you get dismounted, try hearthing or flying to another zone to reset :D
