TheWoWDBSo I tried everything and searched everywhere... I even redid the whole scenario and it still wouldn't proc the extra button to finish off Xal'atah. I stood in the center of the void spot, clicked on the speak with Lorewalker cho and the button proc'd, I clicked it and finished the scenario! I hope this helps others as I was so frustrated with this.

I made it onto the platform where the final encounter with Xal'atath takes place. I still had the action buttons from the previous part of the quest, and they did nothing to Xal'atath. I finally walked back to the edge of the platform, and the single action button appeared that allowed me to start the final cutscene. I saw several other people running around trying to use the earlier abilities, and I suspect that the same thing had happened to them.
For anyone else who may be a little confused, the indicator on the map is correct (for the most part). After you pick up the quest, turn around and walk up the stairs and go down the hallway to a purple teleportation circle to get to the next area.
