Description

Those fiends! Pillaging and murder are one thing, but animal abuse? I'll not stand for it.

The gnolls have set out traps for animals to catch and feed to their slavering hyena mutts. Find a way to free their fluffy captives and show the ruffians how a mage ethically treats animals!

Of course this makes ethical sense in light of my recent actions. What exactly are you trying to insinuate?

Does seem to be working now, although it's an annoying quest! The keys you need are either dropped by the Gnolls or can be found hanging on hooks in and around the tree roots.

I didn't really see the point of the Gnoll Disguise that appears on your Extra Action button. As soon as you click to start freeing the abused animal the disguise drops off and all the surrounding Gnolls pile on anyway. So, it's actually simpler to kill the Gnolls first and then rescue the animal after they're dead.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the quest's prerequisites.

  • Waste Water CleanupThe Azure Span · Level 30-70

First things first--I need my base of operations back! But the elementals running amok around here have made it very difficult to gain even a toehold. And of course it is those wretched gnolls' fault.

  • A Precision ApproachThe Azure Span · Level 30-70

Gnolls are awful creatures. Smelly. Always scratching, laughing at you. And there are multitudes here and more are constantly arriving. We, and by that I mean you, could reap them like wheat for days and never get anywhere. They can't be suffered to stay here.

After this quest

Taken from a quest that requires this one.

  • Third Try's the CharmThe Azure Span · Level 30-70

What? Another one's seized power? Whatever happened to abhorring a vacuum? Or at least waiting for a respectful period of mourning to pass in order to keep up appearances? Do they have no decency? No sense of propriety? No respect for a well-crafted plan? I made charts!

  • Just To Be SureThe Azure Span · Level 30-70

Just... kill anyone who looks like they might be magically inclined. Or has organizational skills. Or looks overly ambitious. Really, just use your best judgement on this one. Your "best judgement" is to stop speaking to me? Come on, <class>! They're... up to something nefarious, obviously!
