When bugged at 5/6, I abandoned the quest, started it again and could finish it. [npc=226255] may stop following you but it doesn't block you to search or collect the "History".
Bugged on the beta.
The last pile you need to search through doesn't show up. I've found no workaround.
Hopefully it will be fixed before the expansion releases in a few days.
