For anyone who was disconnected (as happened to me) or dismounted during the flight before killing 50 Nightbourne, you can still finish the quest!
Just kill more Imperial Conjurers in the courtyard below the hippogryph [32.02, 13.40] to get 10 Spell Focus Fragments. Click on the stack of 10 Spell Focus Fragments to make a Volatile Spell Focus. Jump on the Moonfall Riding Hippogryph and finish the bombing run, and turn in the quest when it pops up.
