And after all the death runs, the tears, the fight, the bloodshed.. we don't recieve any credit with the Nightfallen.
If you don't use coords, or just like a little extra info as you are doing this quest here's my nickle. The rune does not always work or at least it wasn't working on all the mobs when I did it. There is a rare that pats up and down the road where you need to go for the last item. It can be quite overwhelming when you have 15-20 of the mobs and the pat trying to kill you and the stone doesn't work so a word of warning if you aren't a plate wearer and don't have stuns.
The items are located as follows: Magical Manafest is in the open area library on a table outside near where you picked up the quest. The Anthology of the Guard is up the steps, on the landing, on a table. Continue up the steps, take a left and head to the building at the end of the path, passing the pat. The last item is a tablet, leaning up against the library shelves.
I basically just died in front of the item location and picked it up. Rezzed and repeated. There are 2 places where you can rez: One is on the lower landing about halfway up to where the items are. The other is closer to the Anthenaeum where the quest takes place.

What to do
Description
I have not been able to leave the safety of my guardians to search, but there are three tomes of great importance to me and mine. They contain secrets and cantrips that the Nightborne must NOT obtain. <Lothrius raises his hand to your forehead, cementing the names of three tomes into your mind> If we cannot best them, we must preserve all we can. Hurry, {name}.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Lay Waste, Lay Mines
They ransacked my library, <name>. If they want our knowledge, we will give it to them. This piece of rune work will allow you to cast an ensnaring spell on the ground. When the Nightborne cross the threshold they will see the true might of the Moon Guard. Teach them well!
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Stop the Spell Seekers
The Nightborne are here in force. As if that were not worrying enough, they now bring reinforcements. I have seen them opening large portals to Suramar. Through these portals they have called in their constructs.
