Slave Labor is a quest for level 30-35 in Shimmering Expanse. It is step 62 of 149 in the Vashj'ir, Kelp'thar Forest & Shimmering Expanse storyline. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,800 experience and money.
It will take me some time to break through this barrier and communicate with Nespirah. In the meantime, you can save some of those men that the naga have enslaved in the pits below.

If - like me - you're here because you're trying to save a Horde/Alliance Slave Mage; they're not the targets you need to be saving. It is the miners.
Seems obvious to say, but myself and plenty of other people where standing on top of those Mages trying to lasso them.
Around the large, open main area there are pits filled with big pearls. The pearl miners you need to save aren't really visible at the surface, you need to go up to the edge of the pits and look down in there. You can rescue NPCs of either faction.
Some useful info - Using the warrior ability, Heroic Leap to get past the invisible wall, you can get yourself stuck in the pits and be forced to hearth out :) so I wouldn't recommend using this and accidentally getting stuck like I did.

I can't believe that Nespirah would willingly allow these naga to take residence inside her shell. As I see it, one of two things has happened: they have convinced her to willingly join their cause, or they have weakened her to a point where she cannot fight back. Either one is bad.

I may be unable to communicate directly with the beast Nespirah, but I can still feel some things indirectly. For example, I can clearly sense that Nespirah is not happy about the naga's presence here.
