If this is your 2nd or 3rd Artifact and the deathgate takes you to your class hall you need to find Darion by the SoulForge to complete the quest. You won't go back to the Frozen Throne. Also the map marker is incorrect.

If you're unable to use the death date to teleport to the Frozen Throne and you get kicked back to Dalaran, fear not- go to the center of Dalaran and take the portal to Karazhan, go back to the sewer grate entrance and you should see a death gate ready to take you there.

Description

I was wrong about you, death knight. Your assistance against the Dark Riders has proven a great service to the Light. Perhaps I should not be so quick to judge. Nevertheless, you have allowed me to fill my purpose in returning these artifacts to their rightful owners. As for Apocalypse, I can think of no safer place than in your care. May it serve you well against the Legion, death knight.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

The catacombs? I've never heard of such a place. Unless, he means... There's a sewer grate along the edge of the river leading to a catacombs underneath Karazhan. I've never paid it much attention, but it could lead to the catacombs that the spirit spoke of.
