Timber Worg Tails

Timber Worg Tails is an Alliance-only quest for level 15-30 in Terokkar Forest. It is step 9 of 78 in the Terokkar Forest storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Terokkar Forest at 58.3, 54.8. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

Have you come across the timber worgs in your travels? I've had the opportunity to observe them while mapping some of the northern reaches of the forest. I wouldn't recommend getting close to them unless you're prepared for combat.

They have no fear of us and won't hesitate to defend their territory.

It's fitting that such a creature would have a magnificent tail. I've been trying to collect enough of them to trim a new cloak, but the worgs have a habit of evading my snares. Will you help?

Its amazing how few wolves in Terrokar have tails. You'd swear it looks like they all have one, but once the kill is done, lo and behold, no tail. Reminds me of those mutant humans in Hillsbrad that have no skulls....

Drop rate is somewhere between non-existant and ridiculous, leaning towards ridiculous, since every worg you find has a large fluffy tail which somehow seems to disappear at the moment you deal the killing blow. Very odd.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Fel Orc PlansTerokkar Forest · Level 15-30

The writing on the plans is far too delicate and precise to have come from any of the fel orcs. You can't make out what the text says, but the implications are pretty clear: the fel orcs are taking orders from the blood elves at Firewing Point. Why would the two forces be working together?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Elusive IronjawTerokkar Forest · Level 15-30

Now that I have the fur I'll need for the trim, I've been thinking that the pelt of a particular wolf would make a good hood for my cloak. Imagine seeing your enemy clad in the pelt of the most cunning predator in the forest! I've tried trapping old Ironjaw without success.
