I was able to solo this fight with [npc=68659] [1,1,1] for Murlocs, Harpies, and Wolvar, Oh My!.
Just fill in with two additional humanoid pets of your choice.

Vs. [npc=99015]
Sandstorm
Crush
Deflection
Crush until sunny is dead

Vs. [npc=99017]
Sandstorm if weather is sunny, otherwise just crush
Crush
Deflection
From here, use Deflection the round the [pet-ability=402] is going to go off and use Crush as filler until Roots is dead

Vs. [npc=99016]
Sandstorm (to reduce incoming damage)
Use Deflection when Beaky is up in the air
Use Sandstorm on CD and Crush as filler until dead

Training with Durian is randomly available in Val'Sharah (46.94, 39.70) and only visible if you've unlocked World Quests.
Rewards will vary.

Durian Strongfruit will have the following team (all level 25 rare):

1. [npc=99015]
elemental
[pet-ability=268]
[pet-ability=753]
[pet-ability=404]
2. [npc=99017]
elemental
[pet-ability=630]
[pet-ability=964]
[pet-ability=402]
3. [npc=99016]
flying
[pet-ability=184]
[pet-ability=567]
[pet-ability=170]

World Quest Team: [npc=55386] (1,2,1) | [npc=85527] (1,1,1) | [npc=15429] (1,1,1)
Essentially: two pets with [pet-ability=118], [pet-ability=230], [pet-ability=513] (list) & an ooze (list). I opted for Syd w/[pet-ability=934] to extend strat's viability, if you use a diff pet you'll just have to use the ooze more.

vs. Sunny
vs. Roots
vs. Beaky
[pet-ability=513]
[pet-ability=230]
[pet-ability=118] until Sunny dies
[pet-ability=513] (unless on CD)
[pet-ability=118]
[pet-ability=230]
Swap to Syd when stunned
[pet-ability=118] until Roots dies
[pet-ability=934]
[pet-ability=513]
[pet-ability=118] until Syd dies
Bring in Ooze
Prioritize:
1. [pet-ability=450]
2. [pet-ability=447]
3. [pet-ability=445]

Durian is part of Family Familiar
(Use the Spoiler tags to view the strats as they're developed/linked.)

Aquatic: Aquatic Acquiescence

  • Option 1: Solo(ish): [npc=18839] (2,2,2) with 2 Aquatic (consider pet w/ [pet-ability=297] for bad RNG).
    Strategy: here | Credit: Manipul8or

  • Option 2: Man-to-man: [npc=61088] (1,2,2) (alts) | [npc=61158] (2,1,2) (alts) | [npc=82045] (1,1,2).
    Strategy: here | Credit: FaelaRose

Beast: Best of the Beasts
- Team: [npc=10598] (1,2,1) (alts) | *[npc=71942] (1,2,2)* | [npc=53884] (1,1,2)
Xu-Fu is not actually used in the strategy, so "any Beast" alt.
Strategy: here | Credit: Sayake

Critter: Mousing Around

  • Option 1: [npc=59358] (2,1,2) | [npc=64352] (2,2,1) | [npc=62246] (1,2,1)
An alternative first pet would be [npc=82715] (1,2,2) - and here is a list of all the snail alts.
    Strategy: here | Credit: ArmandFrvr

  • Option 2: [npc=87257] (1,2,2) | [npc=62246] (1,2,1) | Critter w/ [pet-ability=376]. Strategy below.
You might find it easier to restart if [pet-ability=1400]'s stun procs on Sunny/Roots.

SpoilerIf you decide not to restart if Durian's pet is stunned, swap to Snail on Beaky & back to Cow when/if Snail dies.
vs. Sunny
  • [pet-ability=163]
  • [pet-ability=1016] on CD
  • [pet-ability=1400] when target has [pet-ability=542]
  • [pet-ability=163] to fill
vs. Roots
  • [pet-ability=1016] after debuffs wear off
  • [pet-ability=1400] when target has [pet-ability=542]
  • [pet-ability=163] to fill
vs. Beaky
  • [pet-ability=163]
  • [pet-ability=1016] on CD (watch timers for [pet-ability=170])
  • [pet-ability=1400] when target has [pet-ability=542]
  • When Cow dies, bring in Snail
  • [pet-ability=310] (refresh @ 1)
  • Spam [pet-ability=445]
If you have to clean up the elementals, prioritize:
[pet-ability=310] refresh > [pet-ability=564] > [pet-ability=445]

Dragonkin: Dragons!
- Team: [npc=68845] (varies,2,2) | [npc=68850] (2,2,2) (alts) | 3rd Dragonkin
Strategy: here | Credit: Rikade

Elemental: Ragnaros, Watch and Learn
- Team: [npc=15710] (2,1,1) | [npc=66950] (1,2,1) | [npc=71018] (1,2,2) (alt)
[npc=73355] (1,1,1) is an option to sub for Snowman or PWS. Waveling sub - consider Crimson or Elementium Geode w/ [pet-ability=488] + [pet-ability=484].

Spoilervs. Sunny
  • [pet-ability=478]
  • [pet-ability=206] on CD
  • [pet-ability=120]
  • [pet-ability=478] to fill
vs. Roots
  • [pet-ability=120]
  • [pet-ability=206] on CD
  • [pet-ability=478] to fill til Snowman dies
  • Bring in PWS
  • Check HP: [pet-ability=564] if it will kill
[pet-ability=513] if Dive isn't enough by itself
    Else [pet-ability=118]
vs. Beaky
  • [pet-ability=564] on CD
  • [pet-ability=513] on CD
  • [pet-ability=118] to fill til PWS dies
  • Tainted Waveling cleans up
  • Maintain [pet-ability=447]
  • Spam [pet-ability=445]

Flying: Flock Together
- Team: [npc=73368] (1,1,2) (alts) | [npc=86447] (2,1,1) | [npc=88225] (2,2,2)
There are 5 moths with these moves, and [npc=97547] can be captured in Val'Sharah. Another option for slot 2 is [npc=81431] (2,2,2).

Spoilervs. Sunny
  • [pet-ability=420]
  • [pet-ability=204]
  • [pet-ability=506]
  • [pet-ability=420] until Sunny dies (~5)
vs. Roots
  • [pet-ability=420]
  • [pet-ability=506]
  • [pet-ability=420]
  • Pass during stun
  • When Moth dies, bring in Ikky
  • [pet-ability=919] + [pet-ability=581]
vs. Beaky
  • (usually) [pet-ability=581] concludes
  • Try to apply [pet-ability=919] before dying
  • Bring in Sentinel's Companion
  • [pet-ability=752]
  • [pet-ability=1233]
  • If needed, avoid round 2 of Lift-Off with [pet-ability=998]

Humanoid: Murlocs, Harpies, and Wolvar, Oh My!
- Surprise! [npc=68659] (1,1,1) can solo. Summary (here) by Skuppis, or play-by-play by Rikade (here). Don't forget to put Humanoids in slots 2 and 3 - [pet-ability=586] is strong vs. Beaky.

Magic: Master of Magic
- Team: [npc=85527] (1,1,1) can make a big dent in this team, usually 2/3rd (credit: Arrkhal - here). For Beaky, I brought [npc=68819] (2,2,2).

Mechanical: Roboteer
- Team: [npc=64899] (1,2,2) | [npc=12419] (1,1,1) | [npc=73011] (2,1,1)
I didn't wind up needing Bling, so another Mech could likely be subbed. If you don't have the Toad, Borelia has outlined how a [npc=68841] (2,1,1) could work.
Strategy here | Credit: Tartyna

Undead: The Lil' Necromancer

  • Option 1: [npc=88577] (1,2,1) | [npc=62034] (1,2,1) | [npc=90203] (1,1,1)
    Strategy: here | Credit: OCDCatLady

  • Option 2: [npc=88577] (1,2,1) | [npc=68654] (1,2,2) | [npc=62854] (2,1,1)

Durian Strongfruit! If you've ever been to an Asian country and tried "Durian", you know what's up with this guy ;-)

His pets are mostly healers and can be annoying, but are mostly not too hard to beat. Here's a leveling strategy for you:

  1. Water Jet

  2. Mudslide

  3. Bubble

  4. Water Jet all the way until Beaky comes in

  5. Swap to your Level Pet

  6. Swap to Chromi to finish with Howl + Surge of Power - easy!

A write-up can be found here: http://www.wow-petguide.com/index.php?m=LegionWQ&s=160
On there you'll also find strategies to beat him with individual pet families for Family Familiar .
