TheWoWDBEdit: What finally...FINALLY worked for me was standing between the quartermaster and the cart. That way the guard on the outside of the camp can't see you. As for the guard on the inside (and thus where you are), you have to be very careful to start reading the very microsecond he passes by you going towards the Dark Portal, otherwise he will see you and send you back.

Stand on The cart beside the plans, to remain hidden.
I only read the first comment, so I tried that for about 7-8 times. Getting pissed off at the teleport all the time, I found out I should try something new.
So I stood inside the cart next to the papers, and started reading it the second the guard turned to go the opposite direction (towards the portal). Got it first try, without any hassle! :)
Easy XP and a quest reward :)
