Tried using the [item=131811] after jumping from Dalaran to reach this zone, which for me did not work.
As soon as you leave Dalaran you enter a zone which does not cover "The Broken Isles" (the Great Sea? I don't remember) and thus unmounts you from the kite.
So do as Molatov said; use the Goblin Glider Kit instead, which shouldn't cost much on the AH (10-30g on my realm).I always got a stack in my bags anyway - VERY handy all over the Broken Isles to reach certain areas (specifically in Stormheim and Highmountain) as it has a lower cd than the Skyhorn Kite (I obviously use the kite first as it isn't a consumable). :)
