This quest will be a lot easier with this macro:
/run SetRaidTarget("mouseover", 8)
This will set a Skull on your mouseover target. When the barrel lits up, mouseover the barrel, click the button and click on the Skull marked barrel when you're done!

The most recent patch has somewhat "fixed" these so that you can't use a mouseover macro to place icons on the barrels anymore...
...that is, unless you do it when the barrels become clickable. This macro will allow you to sequentially place raid markers on mouseover targets:
/script if (charm == nil) or (charm < 1) then charm=9; end; charm=charm-1; SetRaidTarget("mouseover", charm); The idea of using raid markers to identify the correct barrel is the same, but the execution is a bit different. This time, go ahead and start the minigame and follow the barrels as best as you can. 3 is generally pretty easy so you shouldn't have much trouble. Once they're clickable, use this macro to mark each barrel before you select the right one. As the minigame progresses, you'll be able to mark additional barrels before clicking the correct one and thus, you can still easily identify which barrel is the correct one.
Happy barreling! :)
A real problem with this kind of quest/game is that Blizzard seems to break one of the cardinal rules of the shell game- that the shells/barrels don't phase through each other.
It's hard enough to track 1-in-3 to 1-in-5 without also having them phase through one another and completely confuse the person who had been accurately tracking it until that point.
