The link in Sorjourner of Isle of Dorn https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=20595/sojourner-of-isle-of-dorn# for Spores of Dread leads to a quest called Boss of the Bosk (where you are now). this is totally UN-helpful!
If you're looking for where to start this storyline, the quest you need is Frayed Legacy https://www.wowhead.com/quest=78570/frayed-legacy. Go there for help. Took a lot of searching on my part so I thought I'd give some helpful advice.

Don't be confused like I was. The optional on "purified" is the old school version - ie you do not have to take his buff off first if you don't want to. It's not an optional, alternative objective (similar to the Dalaran Citizens).

Description

There is one final thing I must ask of you. There is a great monster that roams these woods. I am certain you've sensed it. It must be felled. Rotbark was Freydrin's final means to control this basin, but even this was too great for any individual earthen. Ours is not to control, but to tend to its needs. Use the staff once more and bring an end to Rotbark's reign.
