Bad Business

Bad Business is a quest for level 70-73 in Isle of Dorn. It is step 16 of 16 in the Merrix and Steelvein storyline, the final step. The quest's turn-in marker is in The Ringing Deeps at 38.1, 23.9. It rewards 11,900 experience and money. Completing it counts toward 2 achievements.

Description

I have not been to the Deeps since their machines shut down. Obstorn will have to guide us to Ardgrin's depot.

Once there, I will attempt a conversation. If Ardgrin is not amenable, which I suspect will be the case, we will respond with equal force. Our goal is to bring him back into the fold, not to beat him into submission. Ruling by fear only breeds resentment.

We will meet you in the Deeps. Come swiftly--and, of course, speak of this to no one.

Highly recommend you do the full campaign first, otherwise you'll have to stop at each of the two breaks to go do the campaign.

Start: How Scandalous!
..there's a few quests here I forgot to write down, but it's a continuous chain through Report to the Councilward
There's a break here, it starts back up with The Councilward's Summons /way #2214 47.4 32.6
Dornogal's Benefactor
Security Through Trade
The Market Reeve of the Forgegrounds
Opals and Runes
The Machine Speakeasy
It'll break again here, go to /way #2339 46.0 47.3 Angrily-Scrawled Poster
You'll find Sedition
Pick up [quest=79527] and Dispelling Rumors together
Forcing My Hand
and end with Bad Business

Congrats! You're done.

I do not know if Ardgrin merely intended to sabotage me or if he wanted to force a confrontation. Either way, a confrontation he will have. I believe this situation can be rectified peacefully, but I cannot do it as the Councilward. Steelvein has never appeared in the stone, but he must now.
