Nothing happened after the first tablet; just back and forth through the portal. Probably not working as designed.
Is there any way to enter those caves outside doing quest?
That is every comment on this page.

What to do
Description
We're at the brink of a monumental discovery! Hurry, there's no time to even call for backup. We must find this strange spirit! With this residue, I can make a spell to adjust the vortex. It'll lead us to the source of this engraved rubble. Based on the specter's guidance, I believe we'll find an entire cave. Be ready, {name}.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- It's Not Just a Rock!
<name>, I have something strange, here. While scouting in the Storm Fields, I found this rock a beast was chewing. Look at it! Could these be runes? Writing? But so ancient? Here? What could it mean? Strangely, I think I've been hearing a voice in my head since I found this thing...
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Sifting Through Void
There's no rubble on the surface. The beasts are burrowing, so they must be finding it in a cavern underground. I've been thinking of how to get there. You've noticed the vortexes that dot the Storm Fields? They twist space, moving things from place to place.
