TheWoWDBYou can just hop in the cart and go AFK for a few minutes. The cart takes no damage, the yeti despawns, and you arrive at the destination ready to turn in the quest.
I call this the LFR Quest, because you get carried while AFKing and still win. It really ought to reward epics.

If you're having issues in 8.0, just don't use any of the cart abilities. When I initially did the quest at 110, I kept bugging through the terrain, and it was only triggered after using the items. Once I stopped using them and let the cart go on its own it completed.

Description
The mountain pass is very dangerous. You need much luck to survive. Nephew Bentnail will show you the way. Perhaps today is a lucky day to travel though. Wind blows from the east; this is good sign. Grummles always travel best when east wind blows. Climb in the cart when you are ready to leave.
