Defragmenting Memory

Defragmenting Memory is a quest for level 73-75 in The Ringing Deeps. It is step 2 of 10 in the Tired of Rest storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in The Ringing Deeps at 59.3, 43.3. It rewards 9,900 experience and money.

Description

My oath is to be a compiler. I collect and tell the stories of our people.

<Brennok sighs.>

Is there wisdom in stories told by someone who never lived them? I've never had an adventure. I was afraid to overwrite the stories entrusted to me.

So I started transcribing them into a book I hid here. Each time we returned to Shadowvein Point, I added more.

I was going to leave and pass on the book, but scorpids ransacked it. Please, find the missing pages before they stuff them into their nests.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Listener LostThe Ringing Deeps · Level 73-75

    Blast it all! Brennok and I were on our way to Shadowvein Point to conduct a recitation ceremony. We were attacked by scorpids. Now the hauler has a scorpid stinger lodged in its gears, and Brennok wandered off.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Let's Not Worry HerThe Ringing Deeps · Level 73-75

    Right, we better get back to Haimaz before she gets suspicious. Please, don't tell her about any of this. Her duty is to guide and guard me in my role as compiler. If she knew I was planning to leave... I don't know what she would do.
