Delving Deeper

Delving Deeper is a quest for level 10-55 in Maldraxxus. It is step 8 of 12 in the Ritual for the Damned storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in The Maw at 32.9, 66.5. It rewards 7,500 experience and money.

Description

It's quite a thrill to have a mortal for a business partner! The amulet really is intriguing.

What's that? Oh yes, that baron you're searching for...

Well it so happens that I learned of a Maldraxxi warlord being held in the lower courtyard of Perdition Hold. As you might guess by the name, it's not the most charming of places.

I would prefer to avoid the attention of the Jailer's forces. Fortunately, I have just the thing.

Give the word, and I will conceal us from the Mawsworn.

Very buggy at the moment. The stealth aura seems to be cast as a disc around the npc and due to the terrain you fall out of it and it drops your stealth. I found hopping up and down managed to reactivate it enough times to finally complete. Took ~10 attempts. Infuriating.

"I do not wish to draw attention with a fight, therefor I will walk directly into agro range of every single mob between here and our destination, even in the face of readily accessible alternate paths, avoiding the most direct route at all costs."

"Then I will ask you, a mere mortal, to slay wave after wave of trash mobs while I, a minor god with power untold, who could slay all of those mobs with a wiggle of my pinky, sit here and stare at the wall for ten minutes for no reason."

So, mortal, you are here looking for someone. Well it just so happens that, clever as I am, it's quite possible I know where they are. Allow me to propose a trade. That amulet you carry... it holds an interesting power. You give me the amulet, and I will help you find this Maldraxxi baron.

After this quest

  • A Bond Beyond DeathMaldraxxus · Level 10-55

Since crossing into the Shadowlands, I've been so focused on our mission that I never even considered the souls of my family being here somewhere. Whatever this realm called Maldraxxus is, I hope it is worthy of my father's service! We must free him, <name>. There is... much I need to say to him.
