I was having trouble getting the key to work when clicking on the ball. The clickable area is not where the gears appear, which is above the ball.

If you stand between the baskets to the left of Old Poot Poot and mouse over the ball's left outer edge, you'll find the clickable area between 7 and 11 o'clock.

The Key drops off [npc=60090] who is walking back and forth in front of the Yeti so you don't have to fight random mobs until the key drops.

Once you have the key the gears to release the yeti are above his head. After he is free he will give you a ride back to the Waystation.

Description

The hozen have a yeti! They call it Old Poot Poot and keep it at the back of their cave. Hozen are normally scared of yeti, but now they feed it grummles. They have a Hunter Chief, Cho Cho the Wicked. Can you see if he has a key on him to the yeti shackles? Bad fortune for hozen if a yeti is loose in their fort.
