At the end of the escort you have to be in range of the Trail Yakker when he casts his buff to complete this quest. Not the Trail guide, the Trail Yakker is about the 4 person in line

Just did this today and I didn't get credit about 5 or 6 times. Finally I logged out and right back in again and the next time I did it I got credit.

Did this today. Taken me about 8 attempts over the past few days figuring out why it wasn't working. Every time I located the group they had just three members and no Yakker or Guide. Dropped them off, flew immediately back. Saved all 5 of them and the Yakker cast the buff while I was stood next to him.
Thank god for that!

Description

This here's hozen lands. Very dangerous. But grummles must trek through. Supplies must reach the Serpent's Spine. Go, protect the next wave of grummles on their trek to Kota Basecamp. If at least one survives, good fortune will find its way to you.
