More Than Illness (Alliance)

More Than Illness is an Alliance-only quest for level 15-30 in Feralas. It is step 2 of 68 in the Feralas storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Feralas at 50.7, 17.2. It rewards 6 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 4,100 experience and money.

Description

I've discovered a brood of dragon whelps gathered off the road to the north with a similar affliction. Green dragons are sacred custodians of nature. The fact that this disease is capable of spreading to them is cause for great alarm.

We must stop this from spreading further through any means. Slay the infected whelps, <name>, and return to me.

When you turn in the quest, Ysondre appears and begins a conversation with Telaron Windflight.

Telaron Windflight says: This is truly grave. We must find the true cause of this illness, for the sake of the land.
Ysondre says: Your sincerity is moving, druid.
Telaron Windflight says: A green dragon in mortal guise! I never thought I would receive the honor of...
Ysondre says: I deserve no such respect or reverance, druid. I have betrayed my own kind. The illness of this land is my fault.
Ysondre says: The sickness is born of the Nightmare within the Emerald Dream, and the dragon Taerar spreads it. He is but a crazed shade of his former self, but will see this land devoured.
Ysondre says: I cannot face him myself. To even approach him would risk letting the same corruption overtake me once more.
Telaron Windflight says: What must we do?
Ysondre says: The earth itself weeps in its suffering. Gather its tears, and use them to seal the portal at the Great Tree. The connection to the Dream must be cut.
Ysondre says: Be brave, heroes.

Telaron Windflight then gives 2 followup quests: Tears of Stone and The Land, Corrupted.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Signs of ChangeFeralas · Level 15-30

A severe illness has fallen over the creatures of this forest. While at first I hoped it was part of nature's course, it has refused to pass. The forest stags, normally strong and serene, have suffered the worst. Some waste away in weakness; others froth and rage dangerously.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Tears of StoneFeralas · Level 15-30

As you witnessed, the dragon Ysondre has told us that the tears of the land can seal the portal from which this corruption stems. Her words ring true; in the glade to the west, I have seen the mountain giants distraught.
