Projections and Plans (Horde)

Projections and Plans is a Horde-only quest for level 15-30 in Dragonblight. It is step 19 of 149 in the Dragonblight storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dragonblight at 38.1, 46.2. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,100 experience and money.

Description

This is a teleportation device. If I had to guess, I'd say that it leads to the surge needle platform floating above the Moonrest Gardens to the southwest.

<name>, I need you to use it to investigate what's up there. It appears that the device works both ways so you shouldn't have to jump off.

I expect that once you teleport up to the top of the surge needle, there will be some sort of apparatus on it to observe.

You should be able to use the teleporter from anywhere within the gardens.

In the quest text the NPC mentions the "Arcanomicron." This is a reference to the Necronomicon, a fictional text from the mind of H. P. Lovecraft. This book of dark magic & summons was also integral to the plot of Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead series starring Bruce Campbell. This series has been referenced, as well as H. P. Lovecraft, throughout the game time & again.

Just as in real life, there is believed to be no such book in-game. However, there is apparently a map showing ley line intersections per the text in this quest.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Strange DeviceDragonblight · Level 15-30

Picking up this strange device, you are certain that it is magical in nature. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to connote any other kind of use. Perhaps the archmage back at Agmar's Hammer to the northeast of the Moonrest Gardens would be able to tell what it's used for?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Focus on the BeachDragonblight · Level 15-30

The mage hunter forces are active on the Glittering Strand to the south of Moonrest Gardens. My guess is that you'll find a heavily guarded focus on the beach and a captain who is in charge of it. No doubt the captain of the force down there will have some sort of controlling device on their person.
