Pretty sure the weapon model that Ruilla uses here is the same as Atiesh... I imagine this is on purpose which leads to some interesting canon implications

Here are the scrolls and text, since they are easily missed. They’re all found in the nearby cave.
Scroll 1- Take left path down in cave and hug the left wall. Found by little bedroll and painted stone by the little pond.
Ways of the Roots--Part I: Serving
Serve the roots, and they will serve you.Scroll 2- Keep going further into the cave and found on table by larger body of water.
Ways of the Roots-Part 2: Growing
[Page 1]
Many of the roots, and the Cradle, were here long before the haranir. Many came later. Nordrassil, Shaladrassil. Teldrassil, and others were planted over countless ages by those on the surface, but the roots reached out to Harandar.[Page 2]
The roots speak their names in the languages of the surface folk who planted them. If the roots reach Harandar, we know Aln'hara blesses them and we welcome them to the great knot of Harandar.[Page 3]
They are tended and protected, but we cannot protect them from the dangers above. The people of that world do not always protect the trees they have planted. We heal what we can. The branches may burn, but the roots will thrive.Scroll 3- Take right path in cave then in larger area, go west until the pit. Jump along right side, over the root and hug the right wall (or glide over if Demon Hunter or Dracthyr). If you fall, you end up near Scroll 2; hug left wall to go back up.
Ways of the Roots-Part 3: Pruning
If you listen to the roots, they will tell you of most threats but what of threats they do not recognize? If we prune roots they see as healthy, will we be forgiven? Will the roots trust us again?

What to do
Description
The Root of the World is the first gift of the land to the haranir, or so it has been said. We have forgotten much about how the staff came to be in the possession of my people. But the root of the story, if you will permit, begins at a time not long after the haranir first came to Harandar. I trust that together, we can uncover its lost past. It is known that Ruilla the Huntress was a pivotal figure in the events that led to the creation of the staff. Go and see history through her eyes.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Russula's Outreach
A weather-worn spear haft, laced with pale mushroom threads, rests in silent vigil. The elders name it Russula's Outreach, yet no tale agrees on what that outreach was, or whom it spared. Was this weapon raised in fury, or lowered in mercy?
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Sky's Hope
Sky's Hope: the stone that legend says fell from the sky. Little is known about it besides it being considered a symbol of hope. But why? Following in the path of our ancient ancestor, Awe'ohna, might shed some light on the matter.
