It's worth adding that you can't do this when Phased as the roots aren't visible
If you use your speed up spells before using roots, ur speed will be increased and you can pull vine out. For example, if you are paladin and use freedom/steed while pulling out vine it will be canceled, but if you cast freedom/steed before start pulling - everything will work.

What to do
Description
Our bees have been marvelous at cultivating the local flora. Some of the plants have seen almost explosive growth. However, the lapbugs have become entangled in their roots. I've been untangling them all morning. Would you lend a hand?

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

- Salad Bar
Hemet, Om'talad, and I have been working together to see what we can do to help the lapbugs. It seems their original food source didn't make it through the collapse of K'aresh!
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Lapbug Essence Hunter
Thorntails are known to hunt smaller creatures. If we are to increase their numbers, we should also increase the numbers of the lapbug population to compensate. Gather some of their astral essence. You can use a phase conduit to get into Untethered Space.
