Gorlash does not seem to wander. Instead, when he is not there (as in someone just killed him or whatever) the yellow marker is there on the map to show where he will be, but the skull does not appear on the minimap. When he is there, both the yellow marker on the map and the skull on the minimap will appear. His spawn time is fairly quick and he always respawns where the yellow marker appears on the map. I'm submitting a screen shot of him.

For some reason, the new ZA/ZG quests seem to be phasing many low level quests out so you can't see the NPCs you need. I'm in mid-completion of these quests from Bambala, and Gorlash and other area quests cannot be completed because no NPCs or mobs appear in phase. Don't really understand what one has to do with the other, but thought I'd mention it if you're 85 and doing both Bambala and Loremaster questing simultaneously.

Description

I used to sail a ship from here all the way to Ratchet, in Kalimdor. I was a successful captain with a sterling reputation. Until... Those cursed sea giants ruined me! They smashed my ship, killed my crew, and set me on a lifeboat to Booty Bay. I will not rest until their corpses pepper the ocean floor! One of the giants, Gorlash, stole my captain's chest. I hear Gorlash wanders the coast east of here. Find him and get back my chest! Do that, and you'll have earned a captain's gratitude.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Kill-CollectThe Cape of Stranglethorn · Level 10-30

There's three phases to debt collecting: asking nicely, asking forcefully, and something I like to call "Phase Three". Unfortunately, collecting during Phase Three is something that this old dog can't do any more.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Giant's FeastThe Cape of Stranglethorn · Level 10-30

The next giant on my list is called Negolash. I remember vividly how he leapt from the seafoam and plucked poor Poop-Deck Paul from the crow's nest. Swallowed him in one gulp, he did. And snapped my mizzenmast in two on the way down. No man on my crew deserves such a heinous death.
