Just finished. When he dies, Revilgaz orders the cannons to let loose at the ship, which knocks you down and out. The game then ports you to standing on a bed beside the rogue trainer.
Easily finished out Cape of Stranglethorn achievement on this, with about two quests to spare.
This series was pretty cool, showing phasing in the old world. I really liked the feel that I was defending booty bay, swinging on a rope to a pirate ship and such.

We've nearly won the day, largely thanks to you. One task remains, however... kill Fleet Master Firallon. It looks like most of Firallon's crew is already dead, but I know that old sea dog well enough to know that he's not done yet. No, he's cooped up tight in his cabin, ready to go down with his ship. Speak with Kebok again to get a wind rider. I'll try to hold off the cannonfire while you're on board.
