Description

You are an evoker, <name>. The best of the best. An elite soldier who has mastered the skills of each of our weyrns.

I expect a lot of you.

Your memories may be broken, but the might of dragons courses through your veins. Harness it.

One of your most potent weapons is your breath attack. The fire within becomes more powerful the longer you inhale.

These insects swarming over our training grounds should make fine targets.

It took me a minute to figure out, but you have to hold down the Fire Breath talent and release it when the bars are full at different stages to get each level of Empowered Fire Breath. (Edited to add after patch 9.2.7: Now you just have to click once and reclick when it's at the desired level you want it to go off at. Looks like they changed it since it first came out)

I had to click the cast button twice. The first time, just click (you don't have to hold the button down). This "greys out" the cast button and starts the 30 sec respawn countdown timer on the button, and it also brings up the cast bar display. Colors on the cast bar, from the left, are no color, red, orange, yellow. Watch the cast bar, and click the button again when you want to release it. Clicking in the red range casts Empowered I Fire Breath, clicking in the orange casts Empowered II Fire Breath, and clicking in the yellow casts Empowered III Fire Breath. Even though the cast button is greyed out and counting down from 30 to one, you can still click it the second time to make the spell work.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Arcane IntrusionThe Forbidden Reach · Level 10-60

That beacon ahead--I am certain it was not there before we were imprisoned. Spellcraft is not my forte, but I know arcane magic when I see it. The same magic used by the blue dragon in the creche. He said a name... Malygos. It sounds so familiar, but the Earth-Warder's teachings feel distant.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Stretch Your WingsThe Forbidden Reach · Level 10-60

I am heartened to see that so many escaped the War Creche. My own weyrn... was not as fortunate. <Emberthal stands in silence for a moment.> There are other creches throughout the Reach, filled with dracthyr in peril. Strong wings will be needed to reach them. Focus. Remember your training.
