The Greater of Two Evils

The Greater of Two Evils is a quest for level 30-35 in Mount Hyjal. It is step 103 of 118 in the Mount Hyjal storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Mount Hyjal at 89.6, 59.1. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 6,000 experience and money.

Description

We took Darkwhisper Gorge from the demons of the Burning Legion by force. We've held on to our territory pretty well so far, with one exception.

We recently lost the Gates of Sothann to a pit lord and his army. We cannot allow this to stand.

Use this talisman when you're near him. You'll gain the powers of a flame ascendant temporarily. Make it count.

There are two abilities you have, one is a flame shield to reduce the damage you take by 95%, and the second is an attack that deals massive damage. Keep your shield up (10 second duration) and use your attack while your shield is up.

This quest can get buggy and not switch your bars when you use the quest-item. If this happens, in this quest (or any other, I made a post about the same issue on a different quest) you can do a macro.

I tried to do the same with button two and three (in case there were more spells than one), however, they didn't seem to do anything, but there might be more than one spell still.

All I did was spam that macro and he died though :)

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Spiritual Training: Mercy is for the WeakMount Hyjal · Level 30-35

You've made it this far. Others haven't. Go to Doom's Vigil, just north of here. We've rounded up all the... failures. I want you to help take care of them. It'll be good for your spiritual growth. If this cold-blooded act gives you trouble, think of it as their second chance.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Twilight TerritoryMount Hyjal · Level 30-35

The demons of the Burning Legion think they can just walk up here and take whatever territory they want. Sure -- the territory was previously theirs, but that's beside the point. We'll teach them not to cross the Twilight's Hammer.
