I have picked up the 3 quests to be done in the cursed depths on two occassions, only to have the entrance blocked with no other access - anyone who can tell me why this is or how to get these quests completed? Alliance was in controll of the hold on both occassions and with over 1 hr before next battle

Description
We have been trying to clear out the Cursed Depths cellblock since we landed on Tol Barad. It seems that everytime we get close, that archmage shows up and pushes us back. Now that we have claimed the island, it's time we take another shot. Head down there and bring me back his staff as proof that you have finished the job.
