You can complete this quest by doing the raid on story mode. You can enter the raid on story mode by talking to an NPC near the entrance. If the NPC is not there and you have completed the campaign on a main you can visit sidormi in the inn in silvermoon and choose to skip the leveling campaign. Then finish the quest line that starts with the quest "Feeding the flame" in the middle of silvermoon from Lorethmar. Once you complete that quest line the NPC will show up outside voidspire and you can enter story mode.

Explaining the mechanic since no one else can be !@#$ed:
These three are tethered to void portals and have an immortality effect that stops them from dying below 1 HP. Alleria (or the fight mechanic) periodically fires Silverstrike Arrows (white/silver beams or arrows). These arrows cleanse the tether only if the arrow's line/path passes through the Sentinel.
1. Burn one Sentinel down to low HP (around 1 HP). They stay alive due to the tether.
2. Wait for the Silverstrike Arrow (Alleria targets two marked players with it).
3. Position the marked players so the arrow beam fires through the low-HP Sentinel you just burned. This removes the tether/shield (you'll see the link/tether disappear).
Finish it off—it can now die.If you're in story mode the silver arrow will always go to you.
As of 03/18/2026 Blizzard has patched this questline among others. It appears that [npc=253322] does not allow story mode until the next server reset "<Story Mode available next week>" which is why the Story Mode option remains red. The LFR and Normal raids should be released in the same time frame, far as I have been told.

Description
At long last, we will ride to glory and dispense justice upon this vile creature who would levy the very Void itself against us. Today is the day Xal'atath's forces will face our judgement. Now is the hour we strike back! Come, let us make an end of this enemy.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

All those people. Our army. Our heroes. Our leaders. Gone. We are exposed here. Umbric's tether saved us, but we need to ensure we survive this. Report to Lor'themar and tell him what transpired in the Voidspire. I will get Umbric to safety and learn what I can here.
