The Wrathcaster

The Wrathcaster is a quest for level 15-30 in Eastern Plaguelands. It is step 32 of 46 in the Eastern Plaguelands storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Eastern Plaguelands at 75.3, 76.2. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,100 experience and money.

Description

One of the more vile members of the Scarlet Crusade, Mataus the Wrathcaster, lurks within the barracks' dungeon. Undeath suits his dark manner.

Were I younger and on the front lines, I'd run him through myself. As things are, I'm left behind to lead our forces from the rear. So I leave the pleasure to you.

Previous directions are a bit off. You go in, turn right and then turn LEFT towards the sleeping area with the bunk beds and LEFT again. The entrance to the basement is just through the archway. It is a bit dark and hard to see. If you get to the stairs you have gone too far.

Or another way of explaining it, is if you are standing facing the stairway to the second floor the entry to the basement is on your right just inside the arch that heads back to the area with the beds.

It really helped to know there was a basement to find him. If you dont get all the turns right, just look to the right of the room with the green carpet. It is basically under the stairs going up to 2nd floor. Look to the left of the arched doorway to the next walkway before you go thru.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Scarlet SalvageEastern Plaguelands · Level 15-30

This battle was won before it started. Right now, we're just shooting for style points. Within these barracks, the sniveling Scarlet Crusaders cling to their priceless artifacts, even though some of the objects are too holy for their now-undead hand to touch.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The HuntsmanEastern Plaguelands · Level 15-30

We've already lost half a dozen men to a hail of bullets and arrows coming from atop this fortress. I haven't seen the face of the enemy that's firing, but I don't need to. I know the name of the man up there. Leopold. That's right, there's only one man up there, picking off my men one-by-one.
