For anyone who's read the novel Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War, which depicted the events preceding Mists of Pandaria, there is a possible cameo at the end of this quest in a cutscene where Jaina is surrounded by her dead allies. To her right in the second row is a gnome with pink hair who I think might be Kinndy Sparkshine, Jaina's friend and apprentice.
Don't forget to click on Jain when the character interaction with each child encounter ends.
