Thresher Oil

Thresher Oil is an Alliance-only quest for level 15-30 in Dustwallow Marsh. It is step 21 of 83 in the Dustwallow Marsh storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dustwallow Marsh at 72.1, 47.0. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

The old log in the lighthouse indicates that the lamp was fueled with oil from the threshers that live along the coast here.

<Babs wrinkles her nose at the mention of such outdated technology.>

I suppose it's a practical, if inelegant solution. The log says that the oil taken from the youngest murk threshers works the best, and those live right underneath the docks of Theramore.

If you're up for it, would you help resupply the lighthouse with fuel?

Don't worry if after you kill a couple and it doesn't let you loot- just leaves a skinnable corpse behind. For some reason the threshers don't have any greys that drops if you randomly kill them, so there will only be a lootable corpse if it contains the Thresher Oil.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • This Old LighthouseDustwallow Marsh · Level 15-30

The old lighthouse out to the east hasn't worked for some time, but Babs Fizzletorque has gotten it into her head to get it working again. I don't know how she plans to do it by herself, but she claims that it'll make the movement of ships and goods into the docks smoother, so I can't really object.

After this quest

  • Dastardly Denizens of the DeepDustwallow Marsh · Level 15-30

You know, it's amazing what you can find in that old lighthouse. After I lit the lamp, I noticed this book in one of the old trunks up there. <Babs holds up the book and reads the title dramatically.> "Dastardly Denizens of the Deep!" Why, I think I might swoon if I ever saw one of these!
