Bristlemaul is found in a cave on a river at coordinates 38.14, 45.59 in Highmountain. The fastest way to get to him is to take a flight point to the Witchwood and then follow the mountainside south until you hit the river. The cave is on the north side of the river and just around a bend in the rock wall.

This is what worked for me: fly to Witchwood, go south, and before you get to Mucksnout Den head right, past the bears. Do not cross the river; the little cave is to the left.
