I do not know why this is marked as a Horde quest as it is available for Alliance too.
Edit: This page seems to have been updated as it now correctly says "Side: Both".

Tough to solo as 59 Fury warrior. There's a brazier to the right of the boss with a dredger stood next to it, you can ask him to light that and pull the boss to it. The big slam gives a healing debuff and does a lot of damage, after a few failed attmepts was able to kill him by using Storm Bolt and fear to make sure I never got more than 1 or 2 stack of the debuff.
It was a horrid solo fight for my mage, easy for my hunter. I ended up giving up with the mage, but I wanted to see how my hunter would fair. I have talented [spell=267116] which gives me two pets. I had Thok (from Siege of Orgrimmar) in both slots giving me two Ferocity pets that kept his attention. My only worry was keeping them alive and fighting off the adds that wandered in the area. More like gnats really, but did take my attention away for a few seconds. I came close to 50% health once, my pets never got below 80% health and we just whittled him down. For a hunter, easy solo fight.
Oh, the in game map doesn't show the turn in. The map on this page is pretty accurate. I did have a time finding [npc=168057] once I entered the room, he's standing just inside the door to the left. My pet, being what they are, obscured him from my view until I got all the way in and turned around. For anyone wanting to use tomtom to find him /way 61.95, 63.97

What to do
Description
Notice to all: A lingering menace lurks in the Endmire, dangerously close to Darkhaven's border. If alone in your travels, take care to avoid this monstrosity, lest it make you meet your true death. Those with a sense of adventure and a well-armed brigade might manage to slay this beast. If so, a reward will await you upon your return. Sincerely, Taskmaster Gavril
