If you are trying to apply common sense and use "Distance to target" meter literally - don't. The lower the "distance" value, the further you are from the objective.
In other words, you need to fill up the bar. Confused me on my first attempt.
When you're some (quite a large) distance from the sentry, you will notice a green projectile coming out of your character and going towards the nearest sentry. That's how you can find them.
My sentries were located around those spots:
54.31, 22.68
55.10, 19.46
56.52, 18.05
56.31, 15.85
54.27, 15.08If you're unlucky, like I was, and get your sentry bugged unable to pick it up, just simply move to another sentry first or leave quest area for a moment. It should work just fine after that.
Very interesting world quest. You'll get a circle dot that grows bigger the closer you're near the target. Ever once in a while, there would ba bolt pointing you towards the direction of one of the hidden interactable item.
