Do NOT waste your time trying to farm this quest item from the slimes and slime giants inside the House of Plagues.

Stick to the outer area with the Contagious Droplets and Plaguedoused Remnants. These seem to have an almost 100% drop rate, while the slimes inside are near 0%.

If you are in the area near the world quest at House of Plagues, you can also kill Burning Extract, and/or the big elite gooey guys near the quest to get the right item (Animated Catalysts). Not sure if they changed the names but I just wanted to clarify.

FYI: if you are in a time crunch might want to come back to this quest. The catalysts don't necessarily drop every time. I had to kill about 35-40 creatures before getting them.

Description

The living slime within Maldraxxus naturally produces a powerful catalyst used in many of the House of Eyes's poisons. There is always a need for the substance. It would be of great help if you could retrieve some for us.
